The 9th GamaICIEB

The Ninth Gadjah Mada International Conference on Islamic Economics and Business (Gama ICIEB), previously known as the Gadjah Mada International Conference on Islamic (GamaICI), is a premier offline international Islamic economics and business conference organized by the Center for Research of in Islamic Economics and Business, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada. This event is dedicated to advancing and sharing groundbreaking research in the fields of Islamic Economics and Development, Islamic Accounting and Finance, and Islamic Business Research. The conference will be held on September 28, 2024.

Objective

Our conference serves as a dynamic platform for fostering intense and productive networking among academics, policymakers, practitioners, students, and other interested parties. Join us to engage in insightful discussions and connect with leading experts in the industry.

Conference Section

The 9th GamaICIEB will be divided into two sections:

    • Main Conference(s)

The main conferences aim to provide a forum for sharing and promoting cutting-edge research in the relevant fields. They also facilitate intense and productive networking among academics, policymakers, practitioners, PhD students, and other interested parties.

    • Student Colloquium

The student colloquium offers bachelor’s and master’s students the opportunity to present and discuss their research in Islamic economics, business, and accounting. This platform allows them to reach a wider audience, including fellow students, experienced researchers, and academics.

Theme

The theme for the Ninth GamaICIEB is “Islamic Financial Literacy and Inclusion: Dynamics and Advancement in Accounting, Business, and Economics.”

Topics

High-quality research papers describing original and unpublished work on the main topics below are most encouraged. However, research papers describing original and unpublished work on the other related topics are also welcome. Each of the following topics is accompanied by its own set of subthemes, but not limited to the following:

Accounting Subthemes:

    • Islamic Accounting Standards and Practices
    • Regulation and Risk Management in Islamic Finance
    • Ethical Financial Reporting in Islamic Finance

Economics Subthemes:
